Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady, launched in 2010, was created by master perfumer Dominique Ropion. It is often called a women's perfume, but many men wear and love it too, so it suits everyone. Perfect for evenings, weddings, and special occasions in fall and winter. Because it is so strong and rose heavy, sample it first if you prefer soft or fresh scents.
The first ten minutes are rose, raspberry, black currant, and cinnamon. Around the twenty minute mark turkish rose, patchouli, incense, and sandalwood take over and the opening pulls back. The dry down settles into amber, musk, benzoin, and sandalwood. Expect around 6 to 9 hours. Projects well and fills a room early on.
Best for people who want a bold statement scent and do not mind being noticed. In Bangladesh that means the cool stretch from November to February. In Dhaka humidity a scent this warm turns heavy fast, so one or two sprays goes further than you think.
