The problem we started with

Good fragrance in Bangladesh has always come with the same problem. The interesting bottles cost more than most people can justify spending on something they have never smelled, and the only way to smell them first is to already own one.

So people buy blind. They watch a review filmed somewhere cold, order a full bottle on the strength of it, and discover that the same fragrance behaves completely differently in Dhaka humidity. Then it sits on a shelf, mostly full, for years.

The rest give up and buy the same three safe designers everyone else wears.

What we do instead

We buy the full bottle so you do not have to.

Every fragrance we stock is opened, poured by hand into a glass atomiser, and sold in sizes small enough to actually test: 1ml, 3ml, 6ml, 10ml, 15ml and 30ml. Same juice, same batch, different container.

A 3ml decant gives you several full days of wear. That is enough to know how something sits on your skin, how it behaves at 2pm in June, and whether anyone around you reacts to it. It costs a fraction of a bottle and it answers the only question that matters: does this work on me.

If it does, buy the bottle. If it does not, you spent very little finding out.

What we will not do

We do not sell oils. We do not sell dupes. We do not sell reformulated blends poured into an unbranded bottle and described as inspired by something else.

Every decant is poured from a sealed, authentic bottle. That is the whole business. Without it there is no reason for anyone to buy from us twice.

We also do not pretend every fragrance is wonderful. Our product pages say when something is too sweet, too loud, too expensive for what it is, or wrong for the weather here. You can read that as bad salesmanship. We read it as the reason people come back.

The shop

We are at House 01, Road 13, Block C, Level 05, Banasree, Dhaka, open every day from 4pm to 9pm.

Come and smell things. That is genuinely the invitation. Photographs and note pyramids only tell you so much, and there is no substitute for putting something on your own skin and walking around with it for ten minutes.

No pressure to buy. Plenty of people come in, try six things, and leave with nothing. That is a perfectly good outcome, because the next time they order they know what they are ordering.

How we choose what to stock

Three questions decide whether something joins the catalogue.

Is it worth smelling? Not is it famous, and not is it selling well elsewhere. Some of what we carry is well known and some of it nobody in Bangladesh has heard of.

Can we get it reliably and verify it? If we cannot be confident about the supply, we do not list it. An empty brand page is better than a decant we cannot stand behind.

Does it make sense here? A fragrance built for a Scandinavian winter is a hard recommendation in a country that spends eight months above thirty degrees. We stock plenty of cold weather scents, but we say so on the page rather than letting you find out in July.

Who we are for

People who want to smell like themselves rather than like the shop floor at a department store.

People who have wanted to try Amouage or Creed or Xerjoff for years and could never justify the entry price.

People who bought one expensive bottle, regretted it, and would like to not do that again.

And people who simply enjoy fragrance and want to own twelve of them instead of two.

Where we are going

More houses, more decants, and a catalogue that keeps leaning toward things you cannot easily find here. We would rather be the place that stocks the strange Turkish extrait nobody else imports than the place with the best price on Sauvage.

If there is something you want that we do not carry, tell us. A surprising amount of what is on the site got there because a customer asked.
