Niche

Niche perfume is a flexible industry term rather than a fragrance family. It commonly refers to specialist or independent perfume houses, or brands that put unusual concepts and artistic perfumery at the centre of their identity, but the boundary with mainstream designer perfume is increasingly blurred. Niche fragrances can smell fresh, floral, gourmand, woody, minimal or extremely experimental; the label itself tells you almost nothing about the actual scent. A category label is a useful starting point, not a promise that every perfume inside it will smell the same.
