Apricot

Apricot in perfume is normally reconstructed with fruity aroma materials rather than extracted directly from the fruit. Perfumers often use creamy lactonic facets to suggest the soft flesh and fuzzy skin of ripe apricot. It typically smells soft, peach-like, velvety, sweet, fruity and lightly creamy. It usually appears in the top to heart and can make floral, musky or gourmand compositions feel rounder and more plush. Apricot tends to feel softer and less juicy than peach, with a more velvety dried-fruit side in some formulas.
