Gissah Hudson Valley, launched in 2020 by the Kuwaiti house Gissah, is a rich oriental woody built on spicy rose. It opens with saffron and blackcurrant that feel warm, tart, and slightly leathery. It is warm and heavy rather than fresh, so it belongs in cooler weather and night wear.
The first ten minutes are saffron and black currant. Around the twenty minute mark rose takes over and the opening pulls back. The dry down settles into amber and patchouli. Expect around 6 to 9 hours. Projects well and fills a room early on.
