Alexandria II, launched in 2012 by the Italian house Xerjoff and created by perfumer Chris Maurice, is a signature from the prestigious Oud Stars line. The oud here is smooth and polished rather than harsh, so it is an easy way into serious niche perfumery.
The first ten minutes are palisander rosewood, lavender, apple, and cinnamon. Around the twenty minute mark rose, cedar, and lily of the valley take over and the opening pulls back. The dry down settles into agarwood (oud), sandalwood, amber, and vanilla. Expect around 9 to 12 hours or more. Projects well and fills a room early on.
